Five most common 500 calorie meals that I ate
In order to gain weight I had to eat 6 meals a day, each meal consisting of 500 calories. Here are some 500 calorie meals that I ate:
Two cheesy egg sandwiches:
2 slices of cheese (120 calories because each slice is 60)
2 pairs of white or honey wheat bread (approximately 280 calories/ 140 calories per pair)
2 eggs (120 calories /60 calories per egg)
= 520 calories in total
*I cook the eggs in a scrambled format with the 2 slices of cheese. then I put half of the eggs in one pair of bread and the other half in another pair...then BOOM. 2 cheesy egg sandwiches. Eat with one bottle or glass of water. Try to drink a glass of water every time you eat something.// You can do this with any other type of sandwich too as long as everything adds up to 500 (For ex: peanut butter and jelly/ham and cheese/tuna/etc.).
Quaker Simply Granola cereal
This brand of cereal is 200 calories per 1/2 cup. You might need a measuring cup for this. Since its 200 calories per 1/2 cup, that means its 400 calories per 1 cup. 1 cup of milk is 150 calories. So 1 cup of milk + 1 cup of granola cereal equals 550 calories in total.
*This can apply for any cereal whose serving is 200 or more calories per 1/2 cup.
Two tuna sandwiches (adds up to 800 calories)
This specific kind of bread is special because just one slice adds up to 110 calories! If you ever go grocery shopping you should definetly add this bread to your list. The slices are bigger. The picture is the brand I use.
2 tablespoons of mayo (90 calories per tablespoon
2 cans of tuna (each can has 2 servings and one serving is 50 calories, so that means one can is 100 calories, which means 2 cans is 200 calories)
2 pairs of the shown kind of bread (each slice is 110, which means one pair is 220 calories, which means 2 pairs is 440 calories!)
*After mixing the mayo with the tuna and putting them into the pairs of bread, the total amount is approximately 800 calories :))
two packs of ramen noodles adds up to about 700 calories!!
The brand I use is oatmeal is Quaker. 1/2 a cup is 150 calories. That means a full cup is 300 calories. In order to make oatmeal you need milk. I cup of milk is 150 calories, So 1 cup of oatmeal + 1 cup of milk = 450 calories (which is about 500 calories)
*All the meals listed are the main meals that I ate. I ate ALOT different kinds of sandwiches and ALOT of ramen noodles. Bread, eggs, pasta, milk, and rice will be your bestfriends during this journey. Occasionally I would eat some fast food or Chinese takeout. For example: 2 Mac chickens at mcdonalds add up to 500 calories. Or some sweet and sour chicken from a Chinese restaurant can come up to as most as 1000 calories!
*For the first week or two of your journey you should write down everything you eat and keep track of the amount of calories you're consuming to make sure you're reaching that certain number of calories by the end of the day!
